pay it forward. gettin' some serious heaven points.

in 2000 a movie came out starring haley joel osment (yeah, that's a guy..), helen hunt, and kevin spacey. i just watched it a few days ago, and honestly i cried. a lot. but the title is 'pay it forward' and the idea behind it is really moving. hold up. picture time.

that would be haley.. creepy.

anyways, that's the basic idea. one person starts, they do a HUGE favor for the betterment of three different people's lives. and instead of those three people paying that one person back. they pay it forward. they then go out and do a huge favor for three different people. and so on and so forth. get it? OH. and there's some rules.

1. it has to be something that really helps people
2. something they can't do by themselves
3. you do it for them, they do it for three other people.

the favors can be anything. in the movie haley's character got two people to fall in love and be happy, brought his family together after 12 years, and saved his friends life by sacrificing his own. i don't really suggest the last one, unless you want to die a martyr, but something vaguely similar would be nice. help an old lady cross a street, help someone with an addiction, care about someone who looks as if they've lost it all, work in a soup kitchen, help out at a pound, fall in love, DO SOMETHING. the world would be such a better place if everyone would pay it forward.
